Emily Melnick, Courtney O'Brien, and Luana Purdy

We are currently seniors in the nurse anesthesiology program at the University of North Florida. Our project began when OPMC expressed interest in creating a TIVA protocol for bariatric surgery during one of our clinical days. All three of us quickly developed an interest in being part of learning more about opioid-free approaches to anesthesia and jumped on the opportunity to make this our DNP project.
Some background on us: All three of us are moms to little kids. Luana and Courtney came from the SICU at Mayo, and Emily came from a career in the ER. Keep an eye out for us in clinical, or even outside the anesthesia office promoting our exciting protocol!
